2019 Alaska Cross Content Conference

In this game workshop, participants will learn the best math games for cross-graded, buddy settings. Come with a teacher partner - primary and upper elementary - and learn games our students can do together once a week. For older students, buddy play enhances and deepens their mathematical understanding and develops leadership skills as they coach their younger buddies. Younger students beneift from 1:1 coaching, focused practice, and opportunities to safely articulate their understanding. Participants in this workshop will receive game ideas for primary, as well as the differentiated upper elementary variations older students can do in their own classrooms. Come prepared to play and leave with a multitude of game ideas and strategies for buddy play.
