Critical and Analytical Thinking: Why are We Failing to Develop Critical Thinking Consistently and Reliably in Students?
This session will demystify, discuss, and provide application techniques for fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills in secondary schools. Primarily for research-based transformative implementation of best practices the discussion will review leveraging The College Board® resources. In an academic context, attendees will draw connections by briefly becoming research-practitioners through analyzing and critiquing case studies. Assessing data trends in Analytical Essay writing. Best practices for instructing problem-solving will be reviewed and illustrated including how to clarify weighing alternative instructional solutions, analytical essay instruction, vertical curriculum alignment, MTSS, and how and when to re-calibrate instructional practices.
