Tammy has provided professional learning opportunities, both in-person and online, for Alaska educators statewide since 2009. Prior to that she served as a classroom teacher and as an Ed Tech PD Coordinator in the Fairbanks and Ketchikan school districts. As an independent contractor, she was originally inspired by the professional learning necessary for integrating technology in the classroom. Tammy has grown her work to support blended learning, educational leadership, computational thinking, and computer science opportunities for all our students. Tammy’s focus is on supporting teachers in their endeavors to provide the best learning opportunities for today’s students, and she holds the role of Manager of the Alaska Professional Learning Network as an essential piece of that support. Along the way, Tammy earned a Masters in Educational Technology, a Masters in Educational Leadership, and multiple certifications and ambassadorships, demonstrating her passion for continual learning. All of Tammy’s formal education, certifications in various areas, and experience in AK schools, both urban and rural, allow her to meet the professional learning needs of today’s educators.
